What a difference a year makes!
Last April we opened our doors and embarked on a new adventure becoming a part of history as Canada’s largest Ford dealership.
With that came a lot of challenges moving from our previous location. For over 40 years our existing building had been home to Windsor Ford and we were happy to call it home. It provided a lot of history and business was good…but we we’re simply running out of room!
Ups and downs came throughout this past year and while the current COVID-19 situation has changed how we do things at our dealership we continue to build upon what was a great first year at our new dealership.
Here are some of our highlights throughout our first year.
The First Used Sale
It wasn’t long after we opened our doors that we had our first used truck sold. The excitement and buzz of the opening of our doors brought a lot of foot traffic in those first few days and it wasn’t long before our first pre-owned vehicle was in the hands of its new owner.
The First Roush
One of the exciting moments of opening our brand new dealership was becoming an official ROUSH dealer and one of the biggest in Western Canada. With an assortment of ROUSH Mustangs and F-150’s in our state of the art showroom, our first customer opted for this beautiful black ROUSH F-150!
Our Long Awaited Quick Lane Opens
One of the biggest challenegers that we faced in our old location was being able to get vehicles in and out for routine maintenance in a much more timely fashion. Due to the lack of space previously an oil change typically required you to drop your vehicle off at Windsor Ford and wait. When our Quick Lane opened everything changed!
Now you simply drive through our Quick Lane, drop off your vehicle and wait while our Quick Lane team provides a throughout 83 point inspection. Oil changes aren’t the only thing that’s changed with the introduction of our Quick Lane, wheel alignments, brake repair, car washes and much more provide a faster but turnaround when you’re visiting our dealership.
Our Very First Employee Pricing Event
One of the hottest sales events of the year is Ford Employee Pricing. Armed with a larger inventory, state of the art showroom and the excitement and buzz of Canada’s largest Ford dealership our first ever Employee Pricing event was a huge amount of success and fun!
We look forward to the next Employee Pricing event coming this summer!
Our Official Grand Opening Event
After getting acquainted with everything our new building had to offer and with the end of Employee Pricing came the official announcement for the Windsor Ford Grand Opening!
We were happy to host the city of Grande Prairie’s rotary club, our Mayor Bill Given, a handful of people that helped this dream become a reality (like Southwest & Mid West Design Construction) and a handful of Ford representatives and executives who were on hand for the opening of the first Ford Signature Series in Western Canada.
Thursday October 3rd we kicked off our Grand Opening with a private event for the people mentioned above and we followed it up with a two day event for the residents of Grande Prairie which included a free BBQ, face painting, New/Used Sales, service discounts and so much more. It was a huge success was one of the biggest highlights of our first year in our new dealership.
The Christmas Parade
As we closed out 2019 the buzz of Christmas was upon us. Armed with some handy staff members we entered into the annual Grande Prairie Christmas Parade with our them “Windsor Ville”.
The hard work and dedication we see on a day to day basis at Windsor Ford was put into our float entry and the result…first place! More importantly, it was a great time for every staff member involved and provided an even better experience for the parade watchers.
2020 And The Future
The first quarter of 2020 was shaping up to our best yet.
The unfortunate news that has plagued all of us continues to shape the landscape on how Windsor Ford, and all of us, do business on a day to day basis. What makes the city of Grande Prairie great is it’s resiliance, it’s strength and of course it’s amazing residents!
Together we look forward to getting through this pandemic and continuing to build and shape our city together for the better!
