How We Inspect Every Used Vehicle

A used vehicle is only a good buy if it's a sound one. Here's the inspection and reconditioning process every vehicle goes through before we list it — and how to shop with confidence.

Why the inspection matters

The biggest worry most people have about buying used is the unknown — what if something’s wrong that you can’t see on the test drive? Our inspection process exists to remove that worry. A pre-owned vehicle is only worth buying if it’s mechanically sound, so we check every one before it’s ever listed for sale.

Just as importantly, the work happens in our own shop, done by factory-trained technicians — the same people who service new Fords every day. It isn’t farmed out to a third party.

What we check

While the exact checklist varies by vehicle, every unit goes through a thorough mechanical and safety review before reconditioning. That typically includes:

  • Engine and transmission — performance, leaks, fluid condition, and any warning codes.
  • Brakes and suspension — pad and rotor wear, steering, shocks, and ride quality.
  • Tires — tread depth and condition on all four, so you know what you’re getting.
  • Electrical and electronics — lights, battery health, infotainment, and driver-assist features.
  • Heating and A/C — important in a Peace Country winter and summer alike.
  • Fluids and filters — topped up or replaced as needed during reconditioning.
  • Body and glass — a walk-around for anything that needs attention before listing.

If something needs to be repaired or replaced, it gets handled — or the vehicle doesn’t make it to the lot.

Reconditioning, not just inspecting

Passing an inspection is the minimum. We also recondition each vehicle so it’s ready to drive home: fresh fluids where needed, detailing, and any fixes flagged during the inspection. The aim is a vehicle that feels cared for, not just “cleared.”

Full transparency on every unit

You should never have to take our word for it. On any vehicle you’re considering, we’ll walk you through what was checked and provide the vehicle history report so you can see the ownership and accident history for yourself. Ask about any unit — we want you to buy with confidence.
