2020 Ford Super Duty In Grande Prairie

Overview

Designed with innovation in every square inch of its design the new Super Duty stands out from first look. For starters, Ford has redesigned its front end with an all-new grille which provides a more open and bolder appearance. Not just for looks, the new grille increases airflow to help cool. The body boasts a high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloy frame making it not only lighter but more resistant to dents, dings and corrosion. While the grille will be the first change noticed Ford has brilliantly re-designed it’s LED head and tail lamps to provide better visibility in low light.

Features

The new 2020 Super Duty engine lineup features an innovative but powerful gas engine with the option for a more capable transmission. If a gas engine isn’t what you’re after the popular 6.7 Litre Power Stroke Diesel provides an impressive, powerful and reliable engine you’ve come to expect from Ford Super Duty trucks. It comes as no surprise that there are over 1.4 million Power Stroke diesel trucks on the road as the Super Duty engine provides a durable and impressive work history dating back over 10 years.

If you’re looking for extra performance the 2020 Super Duty has an available 10-speed TorqShift transmission with SelectShift that provides enhanced efficiency and performance. This helps minimize wear and tear on various parts of the truck while reducing emission, because of this it provides more torque allowing you to enjoy superior take-off.

Performance

Most Super Duty owners want horsepower and torque. Thankfully this year’s edition of the Super Duty takes top honours with both it’s gasoline and diesel engines. The gasoline V8 comes in rated at 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque while the 6.7 litre PowerStroke diesel V8 packs a punch with a whopping 475 Horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque making it top of the line edging out the Ram Heavy Duty.

Interested in towing? The Super Duty Diesel can manage 37,000 pounds with a gooseneck trailer which is best in industry. Furthermore, the 2020 Super Duty can tow the most weight with a conventional hitch at 24,200 pounds with that same diesel V8 engine.

Exterior

Similar to the interior not a lot has changed from the outgoing Super Duty model. Most of the changes are subtle but the biggest one involves the front grille. The two-bar grille is gone and replaced by a variety of different designs that will depend on which trim level you end up purchasing. The biggest change you likely won’t see is all these new grille designs provide improved cooling.

2020 Ford Super Duty Exterior

Dual rear wheel Super Duty trucks receive an added bonus with a special high-airflow grille designed to enhance powertrain cooling flow. Some of the units will have chrome while others won’t but there is definitely an option for more brightwork.

Multiple new wheel patterns have been introduced along with new appliques created for tailgates. Both the taillights and headlights have been updated with some small changes. While other manufacturers went all out with re-designs for 2020 Ford stuck to providing a beautiful but traditional exterior look for it’s Super Duty allowing them to improve performance throughout.

Interior

Not a lot has changed for the overall aesthetic appeal of the 2020 Ford Super Duty. Changes inside the cabin are limited to colour, trim pieces and materials. The biggest differences you’ll notice are inside the Larian and Platinum trims where there are some new appliques on the doors and media bin. The Limited edition gets a lot more extensive changes to its appearance. New colours inside and out, genuine leather, brushed aluminum and black ash wood can be fitted inside.

Technology

Back when the 2020 Ford Super Duty was unveiled it came with being best-in-class power ratings, best-in-class for towing and best-in-class payload ratings. Gone but not forgotten were some of the technological advancements that make it the most advanced heavy-duty pickup truck built to date.

A lot of the tech advances are built to make your life and job easier, especially for life in Grande Prairie, AB.

2020 Super Duty Backup Assist

At the top of the list is the lineup’s exclusive Pro Trailer Backup Assist System which makes backing up even the largest loads and trailers imaginable and easier than ever before. A new steering knob along with a backup reverse camera that’s newly optimized provides the built-in reverse Guidance system with everything it needs to know. This new technology works for all trailer styles including the 5th wheel and gooseneck trailers we traditionally see on the roads in Alberta.

Also, new, the onboard tech will get an upgrade with an embedded 4G LTE modem that provides Wi-Fi connectivity for up to 10 mobile devices. This means you’ll always be connected no matter where you are. Additional options include wireless charging and the much needed upgraded USB-C ports for newer mobile devices.
